Fig and Olive Fall Tasting


















I was lucky enough to be invited to Fig and Olive in Newport Beach to preview their new Fall menu items. I attended this amazing dinner with some incredible women and we had a great time chatting, and sampling all of the new fall items.

FIG & OLIVE Newport Beach in Fashion Island debuted autumnal flavors with seasonal lunch and dinner menus ($6-$54*), casting a harvest glow over its French Riviera inspired table. In addition to three new selections of the restaurant’s signature Crostini, standout appetizers and entrées include a silky Butternut Squash & Chestnut Velouté accompanied by shaved chestnuts, onions, toasted squash seeds, and a drizzle of Arbequina olive oil and Poached Pears in Spiced Orange Juice for dessert. Each item is complemented by founder, Laurent Halasz’s, herbaceous selection of Spanish, French, and Tuscan olive oils (also available in the restaurant and online), which are hand-picked during his team’s annual culinary sojourns to Europe.

                        Additional menu items for Fall include:

·         Gorgonzola, Apple, Red Marmalade Crostini
·         Sea Scallops – crisply seared sea scallops over roasted cauliflower purée, finished with cauliflower semolina, slivered almonds, cilantro, roasted almond oil, and citrus dressing
·         Fall Vegetables Linguini – traditional linguine flavored with artichokes, sautéed cremini mushrooms, radicchio, red onions, pine nuts, parmesan, lemon zest, and artichoke cremini mushroom purée
·         Riviera Salmon – braised endives, sautéed broccolini, smooth cauliflower purée, and garlic bagna cauda
·         Chestnut Mousse with Amarena Cherry – smooth chestnut espuma mousse, walnut meringue, candied walnuts, cherry sorbet, Amarena cherry coulis, and mint

WHEN:             Lunch is served daily Monday – Friday: 12 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. 
Dinner is served daily Sunday – Tuesday: 4 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.; Wednesday: 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.; Thursday: 4 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.; Friday & Saturday: 4 p.m. – 12 a.m.
