Thursday Beauty Finds

Thursday Beauty Finds

Thursday Beauty Finds by everythingevelyne featuring Urban Decay

A good makeup brush is hard to find. Believe me-- I have tried so many different styles. Today I wanted to share with you some of my current favorites.

I love this 6-Piece Antibacterial Brush Set from Sephora. The best part is that these brushes are antimicrobial and can be used both wet and dry. It consists of (1) a large foundation brush to apply both powder or liquid foundation, (2) An angled concealer brush to help highlight the undereye area, (3) A precision brush that is flat to help with contouring and highlighting, (4) An angled liner brush, (5) an allover shadow brush, and an angled foundation/powder brush for bronzer and highlighting.

I also love this two sided brush from Urban Decay. It is the perfect brush to apply shadow and blend, all in one brush. (You know how much I love Urban Decay)!!!

And last but not least this beauty blender. Have you seen these? I love using these to apply liquid foundation or BB cream. I rinse mine with antibacterial soap after every use.

What are your favorite beauty brushes? I would love to hear what products you use. You can shop my look below!! Happy reading!!!

Having Fun With Polka Dots

I think I've finally figured out my obsession with dresses. Since I have a husband and two boys, my life is always surrounded with boy things-- hockey, technology, and just all around messiness.  I miss the girlie, fun things. I love my boys, don't get me wrong, but I love all things girlie and a great dress represents that to me. A fun, flowy shorter cut dress (with tights and booties or over the knee boots) is my go to in these winter months, I have found so many options available and I love sharing them all with you.

This dress is from Holly Sharp Boutique.  It is soooooo me!!! I love how it is cut and the high neck line. I love how dainty it is and of course those polka dots!!!!  I paired it with my Blank NYC jacket, some great tights, booties and my favorite Kendra Scott necklace, and was ready to go to my friend Cassydy's birthday lunch. She is so special and I think this dress was the perfect outfit to celebrate such a wonderful occasion. How do you feel about dresses? Do you prefer them? I would love to hear. And look out for more future dress posts. Thanks to Gabi Wells for photos and happy reading!!!!! You can shop my look by clicking on the pictures below.

Save vs Splurge

Save vs Splurge

Save vs Splurge by everythingevelyne featuring a cape coat

Yesterday my blog post was dedicated to one of my favorite pieces, the cape. Today I wanted to share with you a save and splurge version of this amazing coat. I just love this splurge version by Eileen Fisher that I found at Neiman Marcus. It is so beautiful, but has a hefty price tag of $436.00. Ouch!!! I found this save option that looks almost identical by Rise of Dawn at Revolve for only $143.00. Whichever option you prefer, just try out one of these cape jackets. I think you will love it as much as I do!!! Happy reading!!!

The Camel Cape

One of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe is this amazing camel cape. It is by Wayf and I picked it up at Nordstrom (on sale) and I have been in love ever since. ( It is currently sold out at Nordstrom but you can find it here).  I love everything about this cape-- the color, the fabric and the length. I literally wore it all weekend long-- from running errands to sitting at my son Ben's freezing hockey game, to dinner with my hubby. It is so versatile and took me from day into night!!!

I decided to pair this cape with a basic black long sleeved Lush top and these great faux leather leggings from one of my favorite boutiques, Vici. I added these booties from Fred Segal that have been a classic staple in my closet for the last five years (I love them so much). I hope you try out a fun cape for this winter season. I would love to hear your cape styling tips. Thanks to Gabi Wells for photos and happy reading!!!

Happy Friday!!!! You all know that I love faux fur anything. I wanted to share my favorite faux fur jackets for today's Friday Favorites. What I love about all the options shown above is that there are so many different colors and styles-- different colors like pink and white, different prints, and the addition of a hood. I hope you invest in a fun faux fur coat. It is still so cold outside and a great fur coat is the perfect addition to your winter wardrobe. Which style is your favorite? Happy reading!!!! A Printed Little Black Dress

How cute is this dress by Stevie Sister from Modern Romance? I love wearing little black dresses. They are a constant staple in my wardrobe. I love that this printed dress is an alternative to the traditional LBD. Adding this print is still a way to incorporate my favorite go to color into a different look.  This dress is so flowy and comfortable. I love this Stevie Sister brand!!! You must check it out. It is so flattering.

And since this dress was a little on the shorter side, I added black tights which is the perfect fix for dresses that may be a bit too short. I completed the outfit with a great pair of black booties, my Kendra Scott necklace, and a perfect clutch. What do you think of changing up the ordinary basic little black dress by adding a print? I hope you love it as much as I do.  Thanks to Gabi Wells for photos and Happy reading!!!!

Save vs Splurge

Save vs Splurge

I am currently lusting after these splurge Valentino Rockstud pointy toe heels. I am absolutely obsessed. They are so timeless and look amazing with skinny jeans and a great top, or a fun skirt or dress. These heels are absolutely gorgeous and will go with everything in my closet. But they carry a hefty price tag of $995.00. I found this save option by Halogen that looks so much like the original, and only has a price tag of $100.00. Whichever option you prefer, take a look at these studded strappy heels. Let me know what you think? Happy reading!!!!

I just attended the Newport Beach Restaurant Week media kick off at the Balboa Bay Resort. Cathy and I and some of my blogger babes were lucky enough to sample many delicious items from Waterline Newport Beach, Coliseum Pool and Grill at The Resort at Pelican Hill, The Lighthouse Cafe, Sushi Roku, and Fig and Olive. Every entree was just delicious and we had the best time.

The longest running restaurant week in Orange County, this annual event series takes place Monday, Jan. 18 through Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016. Guests can discover the theme of “Feed Your Inner Curiosity” at 60-plus restaurants throughout the area, with curated venue selections for the “health nut,” “carnivore,” “sweet treat freak,” “food critic,” and “inner circle.” Options abound throughout the 10 distinct dining neighborhoods and across cuisine genres with four set price points for lunch ($10, $15, $20 or $25) and dinner ($20, $30, $40 or $50).
