5 Denim Spring Essentials

1) Boyfriend Jeans 7fam --- Nordstrom
2) Current Elliot Denim Skirt-- Nordstrom
3) AG Skinny Jeans-- Bloomingdale's
4) Paige Denim Jacket -- Bloomingdale's
5) Rag and Bone Denim Vest-- Bloomingdale's

Hi guys.  These are some of my five favorite spring denim pieces which I love incorporating into my wardrobe:

1. Boyfriend Jeans:  I wear boyfriend jeans all the time. I like this version from Seven For All Mankind. I wear these with a plain white tee shirt, partially tucked in and some classic booties or sandals.  You can dress them up by adding a blazer and heels.

2. Denim Skirt: Denim skirts are making a comeback. I love this distressed version from Current Elliot.  You can pair it with a fun spring colored top and gladiator sandals (tall or short).

3. Skinny Jeans:  The perfect skinny jean is flattering on everyone. Try investing in a pair with a dark wash like these by AG that can be worn both dressy and casual.

4. Denim Jacket: This is one of my all time favorite wardrobe staples. Denim jackets over maxi skirts or dresses are a must to try for spring.

5. Denim Vest:  I wear this Rag and Bone vest over a tank and maxi skirt, or a sleeveless maxi dress.

Try adding some of these denim must haves into your spring wardrobe and let me know what you think. Happy reading!!!

Ladies Luncheon

Diane Von Furstenberg Chiffon Dress-- DVF
YSL heels-- Neiman Marcus
Handbag--Chanel

Hi guys. My friend Cathy took me to an amazing ladies luncheon the other day.
It was at a beautiful hotel in Newport Beach.  I had such a great time seeing old friends.

I decided to wear a classic Diane Von Furstenberg chiffon dress. Diane Von Furstenberg creates timeless pieces.  I love the fit of her dresses. If you have a special occasion, I recommend trying this chiffon dress (which comes in many prints and colors) or her classic wrap dress. These styles look flattering on everyone.  I wore basic jewelry-- a diamond necklace my husband bought me when my son was born, and stud earrings.

I paired my dress with my favorite Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) nude heels.  This style heel is a worthwhile investment that will never go out of style. Wearing a nude heel with a black dress can give a more updated look than a traditional black heel.

I just love this Chanel bag. There is nothing more classic than a Chanel quilted black bag. It goes with everything and I wear it all the time.

My friend Cathy looks fabulous in her orange dress and bright colored heels. Orange is the perfect spring color to incorporate into your wardrobe.

So give this look a try for your next dressy occasion.  Let me know what you think.  Happy reading!!!!! (P.S. A big thank you to my photographer Cathy Cordas on these pictures).

My Favorite Spring Shoes

1 and 2 --Gladiator Sandals --Stuart Weitzman-- Nordstrom
3-- Sarah Jessica Parker Heels --Nordstrom
4--Sam Edelman Ankle Strap low heel-- Nordstrom
5 -- Dolce Vita Bootie-- Nordstrom

Hi guys.  Today I want to discuss my favorite spring shoes, all of which you can find at Nordstrom. I just love the shoe department at Nordstrom. It has such a variety of different styles and price points.

1/2-- Gladiator Sandals:
I love both the high and low gladiator sandal. I have seen these Stuart Weitzman gladiators in all the current fashion magazines. Each version goes great with a shorter skirt or dress. This look is so chic.

3--Spring Colored Classic Heel-- This heel I chose is from Sarah Jessica Parker's new shoe line.  She has great taste and these shoes remind me of the fabulous clothing on Sex and the City.  The flowered detail makes it romantic and it goes well with a simple white tshirt, black blazer and skinny jeans. I really like the spring pink color.

4--Ankle Strap Heel-- Ankle strap heels are a big trend this spring. You can wear them with a skirt, dress or skinny jeans. They are very versatile.  I love the leopard print on these Sam Edelman's.

5--The Open Toe Bootie-- I love to wear booties all year round. As a spring option,  it's so easy to incorporate this open toed bootie with a skirt, denim shorts, or a boyfriend jean.

These shoe choices are definitely staples to incorporate into your spring shoe collection.  Let me know what you think.  Happy reading!!!!

Favorite Item of the Week--The Kimono Jacket

Kimono jacket-- Similar options-- Nordstrom
Tshirt--J Crew
Boyfriend Jeans-7fam
Booties- Dolce Vita
Belt-Nordstrom

Hi guys. My favorite item this week is the kimono jacket. It is a great trend that I recommend trying. A kimono jacket is not as fitted as a blazer, and is more funky than a classic cardigan.  It is loose and flowy and can be worn both dressy and casual.

Kimono jackets can be solid colors or prints. I'm wearing a kimono jacket by Lover's and Friends. I love the bright spring colors. I bought it at Trio in Palm Desert. My friend Debra Fenn owns it and if you are ever on El Paseo in Palm Desert California you must check out her store.  I paired this Kimono jacket with my favorite tshirt from J Crew, a great boyfriend jean from Seven for all Mankind and camel Dolce Vita booties. Belting the jeans and tucking in the tshirt gives this whole look more definition.

My hip French mowhawk braid completed my look (Thanks to my friend Alexsis Scaletti from the beauty blog Alexsis Mae--You must follow her. She has such great beauty tips).

There are lots of ways to have fun with a a kimono jacket. You can put it over a little black dress, use it as a cover up over a bathing suit, or even wear it over jean shorts or a jean skirt.   Let me know all the fun ways you have tried wearing your kimono jacket.  Happy reading!!!!

Five Must Have Spring Items

1) Blazer-- Nordstrom
2) Coral Top--Nordstrom
3) Bibb Necklace-- Baublebar
5) Jimmy Choo Heels-- Saks

Hi guys. I'm so excited about Spring and all the cute clothing I've been seeing. Today I decided to write about five items I'm absolutely obsessed with and I feel are essential to incorporate into your spring wardrobe.

1. The White Blazer: I just love a crisp white blazer. I bought mine a few years ago from Nordstrom. I love wearing it with a fun flowy top or even just a t-shirt and its very versatile.

2. The Colored Tank-- I love bright colored tanks under blazers. This coral color in the picture is from Nordstrom, is flattering and has a great price point.

3. The Statement Necklace-- I love with this piece. I just ordered it from a web site I found called Baublebar.  A necklace like this can really put the finishing touches on your spring outfit.

4. Skinny Jeans-- I just love a great skinny jean. Joe's are my favorite and have a very flattering fit.   They can be worn with high boots, booties, sandals or heels.

5. The Perfect Heel-- I love these Jimmy Choo heels. They are beautiful and classic.

Try some of these spring trends and let me know what you think. Happy reading!!!!!

Favorite Item of the Week

The perfect shirt-- Harper's
Jeans--Joe's
Necklace--Twisted Silver
Booties--Dolce Vita

Hi guys. My favorite item this week is the perfect shirt. I call it the perfect shirt because it fits every body type so well and it is comfortable and easy to wear. It can be made of silk, rayon or a polyester blend. It can have long or short sleeves and hits just below your waist. You can wear it out over jeans or add a slight tuck into your jeans. This type of shirt has become a staple in my wardrobe. Spring is just around the corner, and adding a shirt in a fun bright color is the perfect way to update your look.

The shirt I'm wearing today is a beautiful teal color. I really like how it lays so nicely over a classic pair of skinny jeans (my favorite Joe's Jeans). All I had to do was add a great statement necklace and some neutral booties and my outfit is complete.

Many ladies ask me what they can do to update their look. I recommend investing in some basics and this perfect shirt is one of them. I bought my shirt at Harper's in Corona del Mar (www.shopharpers.com). My friend Erica Thomas owns this adorable boutique and it is a place you should all visit. Harper's carries this style shirt made by Lush, Honey Punch and Olivaceous. It comes in many colors. Some styles are button down with more of a defined collar, and some are plain in the front with a nonstructured collar like the one I'm wearing. I've also seen this style shirt made by the labels Joie and Equipment, which can be found at Bloomingdale's or Nordstrom.

Try investing in one of these perfect shirts. It is a go to staple in my wardrobe and I hope it soon will be in yours too. Let me know what you think.  Happy reading!!!!!

Academy Awards 2014

Evelyne's pants-- Olivaceous-- Harper's
Evelyne's shirt--Olivaceous-- Harper's
Evelyne's shoes-- Jimmy Choo-- Saks
Evelyne's necklace-- Twisted Silver

Hi guys.  Every year for the past ten years or so, I have hosted an Academy Awards viewing party at my house. All of my favorite girlfriends come over and we eat, drink and watch. We especially love talking about what all the movie stars are wearing. Our list has grown throughout the years and this year was the biggest yet. My very dear friend Rita organizes games every year. She is so creative and brings prizes from her hair salon (Salon 359 in Newport Beach, California).

What I love about my girlfriends is how eclectic of a group we are.  They are both friends who I have known for many years, and friends who are newer in my life. I truly love these ladies. I appreciate their style as well. Everyone is so different. Some of them dress funky and trendy, some are more conservative and some are a little of both. These ladies really took it up a notch this year. Some stepped out of their comfort zone and tried a new trend, while others wore color when all they ever wear is black. Everyone made an effort to look their very best and they all looked fabulous. It was a wonderful evening.

I decided to dress more funky and trendy, as if I was going out for a night on the town in Los Angeles. I wore faux red leather pants paired with a black long flowy top and some amazing black Jimmy Choo kitten heels. I purchased these Jimmy Choos on a girls trip to New York City at Saks Fifth Avenue. They are so classic and are one of my absolute favorite pairs of shoes. Kitten heels are so versatile. They can be worn with skinny jeans, skinny pants or a knee length skirt.

We had a great night.  Let me know what you wear on your favorite girls' night out?  Happy reading.
